Hi, of course this would be the cleanes way -- but I am afraid this entrance 
level might be too high and reduce the few amount of registering schools 
further. Instead I'd go for sending mail at registration timw.

I already managed to 
- log to a file (this could be used for a cronjob that pulls the log to the 
commits list.
- send a notice to my own address.

messages sent to commits list don't come through - I suppose the spam filter 
is too good. This is the header produced by my mailing-routine:
