The error comes from fontconfig, which can't find it's default configuration. fontconfig is invoked to set up ttf-dejavu (or at least the error comes straight after ttf-dejavu. The ting about the empty error message is, that the message itself is on an line of its own and the code in first-boot does not handle multi-line messages well. Anyway this problem does not break ltsp-client-build and also does not has any negative effect on the ltsp environment.
