The problem is, when appending umask=007 to the mount options for a filesystem,
does not support that option, it failes to mount the fs.
I've reworked the patch against hal. Now the umask=007 if the fs does support
that.
The fixed version can be found in out etch-test repository and has the version
number 0.5.8.1-9.0.edu.etch.3.
I will leave this bug opened until the etch repository contains a fixed version.
