It seems to be based on Debian Etch, with some backports.org, contrib, non-free and custom stuff mixed in, and a kernel from testing that has since been dropped. It seems to be a fork of a Debian/Ubuntu package - and at least the manpage has copyright Matthew Garrett (so Cc'ing him to make him aware).
