Wolfgang Rohrmoser and Kurt Gramlich, both working with Skolelinux in Germany, have put together and maintain a Sugar environment based on same (Fedora-based) environment as OLPC use for the XOs. That LiveCD is, I believe, a working solution but in Skolelinux context promoted only temporarily until Sugar is fully packaged in Debian: Skolelinux has a defined goal of becoming a Debian Pure Blend which precludes such Fedora-based work. So that LiveCD is real and concrete and promoted by members of Skolelinux in Germany (similarly to norwegian variations of Knoppix have been promoted in Norway in the past and possibly still is), but is (I believe) not an integral plan of Skolelinux development.
