Well, no. :) (more by chance then by clever design.)
Thanks for pointing that out.

There's one reservation though:
If the device name (in lvm), or the mount point contains "squid" it will!
Is that sufficiently safe?

Note that squid will not immediately strangle such an unfortunate system.
