Since we're all using the web... not every program has to be installed on a local server.
For online courses I'd suggest looking at the National Repository of Online Course (NROC) <http://www.montereyinstitute.org/nroc/> and their HippoCampus.org <http://www.hippocampus.org> Their courses are multimedia and quite extensive as you will see. The other I'd recommend is Curriki.org<http://www.curriki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome> Those two sites alone have create classroom course for K-12 (sometimes beyond).
