also, make sure that pulseaudio is installed in the chroot, if
/usr/bin/pulseaudio (part of the pulseaudio package) is not present, but
/usr/bin/esd (either in esound or pulseaudio-esound-compat) is present, it will
set SOUND_DAEMON=esd.

forcing SOUND_DAEMON=pulse in lts.conf will override this, but if
/usr/bin/pulseaudio isn't installed, that won't work very well.
