In the debian/rules file of debian-edu-config I found: dh_installinit --init-script fetch-ldap-cert -r --no-start -u"start 95 2 3 4 5 ." i.e. runlevel rcS is missing. In ltsp-make-client, "only_run_on_rclevel S fetch-ldap-cert" seems to work only if there is already a link in rcS.d.
