Thanks for this suggestion Alf, and to you too Ralf. I am already using nonfree flash. I have discovered that everything works in my house, where the "only" difference from school is the firewall. I have not customised squid on either tjener. So even though I disabled every component of the firewall (Untangle) for testing, it must still be dropping some flash. This is on very rare occasions, however. I am only aware of this one website, and its not all the games from it. There was a flash - based school website that didn't work a couple of years ago, and I corresponded briefly with the IT guy there. He was confident that his site worked everwhere in the world except my school. Meanwhile his was the only flash that didn't show in our school, so I was "sure" the problem was not ours! The site has since been rewritten and is no longer flash-based. I remember that the page source body contained only an empty script tag Anyway this time I have admitted to the teacher that I don't know why his maths games don't come through, and he has kindly said never mind. I will probably not test anymore unless further problems occur. I suppose I should replace the school Untangle with my home ipcop for further testing, but there is quite a lot of inertia to overcome there and I don't think I will get round to doing it without more stimulus :) Thanks again for the suggestions nigel -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
