Hi list, my name is Marcel Naranjo. I am a computer admin for more than 20 years and have more or less deeper experience with debian. I am the head of www.dig-it.de
As for about one year we are maintaining a small debian-edu network at fg-berlin.de Before there was an Apple server running nothing more than one samba share. The change from the Apple server to debian edus samba was easy. We have two computer rooms, one with Windows7 and another with Windows XP (as of yesterday :-)) Furthermore there is a bunch of APs all over the school an a handful of Windows fat clients in the teachers offices. Everything was connected to the eth0 interface switches accessing the samba shares. This week we decided to switch the XP computer room to the LTSP-Interface eth1 of tjener. There is a dedicated switch and the change from Windows XP harddisk to PXE-boot with LTSP was as easy as 1-2-3. BUT ... The login with skoleuser (or any other user we have set up) is not possible, while the login with skoleadmin works fine. I found that the global keyboard-settings while login is kind of US/UK and not DE. So we double-checked the password. What is the problem here? I guessed something with the settings in gosa2, but the selection for acceptance of login into the terminal server is checked. Is there another need for setting special rights? What am i doing wrong? Every hint/help is highly appreciated Wow i noticed, that my last use of a list was about 15 years ago! So, if i misused this channel kind of. Please be tolerant with me, even if i possibly "screwed" this posting a bit. Thanx-a-lot in advance! best regards -- Marcel Naranjo Lederich Geschäftsführung -------------------------------------------------------------------- dig it! entertainments Gesellschaft für multimediale Interaktion mbH AG Charlottenburg HRB 50094 SteuerNr: 37/266/21387 GF: Marcel Naranjo Lederich UStID: DE 162522594 Berliner Strasse 90 fon: +49.30.61280621 D-13189 Berlin fax: +49.30.61280629 http://www.dig-it.de mailto: [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------------------- Wir liefern ausschliesslich zu unseren AGB http://www.dig-it.de/agb -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
