package: src:debian-edu-artwork version: 0.49-1 severity: wishlist Hi,
the debian-edu-artwork source and the debian-edu-artwork-spacefun binary
packages are huge, mostly because it contains several png versions of the
same wallpapers in differet sizes. (For comparison: spacefun 45m binary
packages, joy 7mb and lines 3mb).

65mb out of the 73mb the uncompressed spacefun package is in size...
So my idea is to either drop the spacefun artwork completly, or put it into
it's own git repo and source package and keep it. And do the same with
joy and lines actually too. Or have two repos: debian-edu-artwork and
debian-edu-artwork-historic. (I'm serious here.)
And then I just see we can still drop 5.5mb from the source package by
dropping debian-edu-spacefun-wallpaper01_XxY.png and generate this from
the also existing .svg file - I will file a seperate bug about this.
This we should fix for jessie.
As this is just an issue for developers and a tiny annoyance for mirror
operators etc I think we should probably leave this for jessie as it is,
and do this for after the jessie release.
