Performance issue in test setup

Hi folks,

>From the start I’m experiencing problems in my little test setup that I’m
using at a school I’m working with. It’s a real pain.

My setup is isolated meaning I just have a server with a gigabit network
card and 20 older diskless panasonic toughbooks are connected through a
10/100mbit switch using LTSP.

Things are not working really. Out of all these laptops only about 4-6 are
able to run somehow. Freezes occur frequently.

I have done some research and I think theses symptoms are related to my
network not working in 100mbit as it should. Somehow things look like I’m
running on 10mbit, right?

How to you explain theses symptoms? How can I find the bottle neck?
