Doesn't work well if the external screen's resolution is higher than
800 minus then internal screen height, so maximum 320 with the default
internal screen resolution.

Tell them they only can use the external VGA in that way that it
displays the same content as the internal display. Everything else
isn't really practicable IMHO.
