Dear list,
I will probably go insane on this topic. Could you please help me with collecting some data for comparison? See the questions below. I saved the /var/log/Xorg.0.log. Does anybody know, if this is > useful for this problem? I did some more searching and I found [1], where it is stated that *all* ASUS EeePC 701 4G are running at 630 MHz. 1. Could you please send me the output of cat /proc/cpuinfo 2. The version of the BIOS. (Press F2 on start up or use dmidecode.) 3. If you use a 22 inch monitor over VGA at a resolution of 1680 * 1050, then please attach … a) the manufacturer and model number of your monitor, b) your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and c) your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and d) what command or front end you are using to switch (xrandr). 4. More ideas, suggestions, …? Thanks a lot for helping me. If I will not figure this out until Thursday I will have to give the monitor back. Good night, Paul [1] http://wiki.eeeuser.com/eee_hardware_faq#why_does_the_cpu_of_the_eee_appear_to_run_at_630mhz
