It seems the SD problem has been outlined in another message a few days ago, and also its solution. I copy the email below, since it is not yet into the archives, as we speak.
If it enters 2.6.27 it will not be in lenny :-( Any chance this patch can be applied to a debian kernel and put into the eee repository? regards to all, Pedro from Alexey Lebedeff <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to [email protected] date Sat, Aug 23, 2008 at 5:16 PM subject [Debian-eeepc-devel] eee 900, linux 2.6.25, and card reader problem mailing list debian-eeepc-devel.lists.alioth.debian.org Filter messages from this mailing list mailed-by lists.alioth.debian.org hide details Aug 23 (2 days ago) Reply Don't found any mentions of this problem in wiki, so writing here. After installing debian lenny on my eee, card reader was not working. There was changes in 2.6.25 which was aimed to avoid some other cardreader bugs, but also broken eee reader. I applied fix from http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-scsi/msg28197.html to 2.6.25 kernel and all started working smoothly. As i can see, this patch is also needed for 2.6.26 from unstable. And this patch was finally accepted into the kernel 2 weeks ago: http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/git-commits-head/2008/8/6/2832894 On Mon, Aug 25, 2008 at 10:29 AM, bruno Caillier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > So I relaunch the thread, because I'm in the same situation : " > boot halt after popullated by /udev if card is in the slot" > > Aug 25 14:30:00 eeepc-bruno kernel: [ 12.691663] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Result: > hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE,SUGGEST_OK > Aug 25 14:30:00 eeepc-bruno kernel: [ 12.691673] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Sense > Key : Hardware Error [current] > Aug 25 14:30:00 eeepc-bruno kernel: [ 12.691681] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Add. > Sense: Unrecovered read error > Aug 25 14:30:00 eeepc-bruno kernel: [ 12.691690] end_request: I/O > error, dev sdc, sector 31388664 > > > > > fresh lenny install with 2.6.25 > and a 16 G sd-card witch is working after boot > > > [ 17.412749] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] 31388672 512-byte hardware sectors (16071 MB) > [ 17.413406] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Write Protect is off > [ 17.413418] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 > [ 17.413422] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through > [ 17.415409] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] 31388672 512-byte hardware sectors (16071 MB) > [ 17.416016] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Write Protect is off > [ 17.416025] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 > [ 17.416029] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write through > [ 17.416116] sdc: sdc1 > > > and last bios > eeepc 900 > > Any solution ? > > Thks Bruno > > _______________________________________________ > Debian-eeepc-devel mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/debian-eeepc-devel _______________________________________________ Debian-eeepc-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/debian-eeepc-devel
