Maybe not related, I got myself an MSI Wind clone (Medion akoya E1210) instead of the 901 that I wanted, it has a RaLink Device 0781 WiFi built in and I am using the rt2860sta driver with it. I've had a hard time configuring that device, especially with Network-Manager as you have to bring the device up before you can pass it any SSID or encryption keys. I never managed to give it both parameters at the same time. Until I found RutilT which somehow manages to pass all parameters to the card, it just works! The only drawback I see so far is that you have to use DHCP, it does not allow to configure a static IP (yet...). http://bonrom.cbbknet.com/ Maybe that package would be useful to have in Debian?
