I'm using debian lenny on a eee 900, with kernel linux-image-2.6.26-1-686 (2.6.26-8). When I load pciehp via /etc/modules, the boottime goes from 24s to 29s, as seen from bootchart.
I believe that loading pciehp is a good thing (tm), but I don't like the extra boottime asociated with it. Anyone having any ideas, can I have pciehp, but without adding 5s to my boottime? Bootcharts available here: http://people.skolelinux.no/klaus/bootchart.with.pciehp.png http://people.skolelinux.no/klaus/bootchart.without.pciehp.png In case you haven't used bootchart, just do: aptitude install bootchart and add to the kernel-line inn /boot/grub/menu.lst init=/sbin/bootchartd After boot you just run a bootchart -f png -- Klaus Ade 67E61D18B2C44F8A3DA35C6D849F9F5F 26FA477D
