I'm using debian lenny on a eee 900, with kernel
linux-image-2.6.26-1-686 (2.6.26-8). When I load pciehp
via /etc/modules, the boottime goes from 24s to 29s, as seen from
bootchart.

I believe that loading pciehp is a good thing (tm), but I don't like the
extra boottime asociated with it.

Anyone having any ideas, can I have pciehp, but without adding 5s to my
boottime?

Bootcharts available here:

In case you haven't used bootchart, just do:
aptitude install bootchart
and add to the kernel-line inn /boot/grub/menu.lst
init=/sbin/bootchartd

After boot you just run a
bootchart -f png
