I can happily connect to wpa2 network here with wpa_cli but not wpa1. Probably depends to an extent on the AP. This is why I have been suggesting for the 2860 to use one of the graphical managers, as they seem to tweak enough settings in the driver to get it to work reliably on most ap's.
