read it without a speed reading course. One can enable the long tests,
but still there's no way to freeze that screen nor the one with the
table and 10 second countdown that comes after it... as this is all
before grub/Linux takes control.

I'm not sure this question is appropriate for this list, but the usual
answer is to press the 'pause' key. Details of the BIOS are, of course,
BIOS dependent, so in general you should consult the BIOS manual.
