I switched to a Linksys WRT54G which handles my cable modem - and will run various Linux derivatives. The Linksys is fine - for me. Be very careful of proprietary "Turbo speed" extensions in any wireless gear as you may find that only D-Link <-> D-Link, Netgear <-> Netgear and so on.
