Thanks Hector,
I'm not a experienced developer on embedded systems, so I will ask some
questions that can be obvious for you, but I'll do it.
Closest approach that we have been working on -mainly Ed- was
developing a framework using scratchbox for Nokia device. Some of his
packages are at http://www.emdebian.org/svn/browser/emdebian/trunk/.
If you are interested, you could continue his work.
I think you refer to http://wiki.debian.org/Emdebian_Nokia. I have tried
it, but the rootfs images that I generate don't work, when I flash them,
then NOKIA logo stays in the screen and I don't know what happens. I've
found the same rootfs that I'm trying to make in
http://repository.maemo.org/emdebian/configurations/arm-glibc-nokia770-x/arm-glibc-nokia770-x-128.jffs2,
but when I flash it (./flasher-3.0 -r arm-glibc-nokia770-x-128.jffs2 -f
-R), the same occurs.
I don't know how to continue his work. I'm stopped there.
There is to mention Slind effort - now at www.slind.org -.
Do you know if using SLIND is possible to make a custom debian based
rootfs for Nokia 770?
Anyway, if you want to develop with N770, i would suggest, to
bootstrap a Debian rootfs and start to emdebianize those packages
until you get a fully functional emdebian rootfs.
The problem is that I don't know how to make a rootfs. I've read
http://wiki.debian.org/Emdebian_Nokia,
http://www.maemo.org/platform/docs/howtos/howto_use_flasher_rootfs.html,
and other documents, but are outdated.
Some help to start? Where to find updated documentation?
Cheers!
