I know. Apparently, there is a bug in kvm that makes it ignore the tap device after a few hours of runtime. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2506814&group_id=180599&atid=893831 suggests that using an emulated rtl8139 might work better, so I'm trying that.
