Hi I hope someone responds to it. Installing gcc (apt-get install gcc or apt-get install gcc-4.3) on Armel Emdebian Grip fails as posted by my previous message. I tried installing it by installing all the dependencies. While installing gcc-4.3 it needs libgcc1 (>=1:4.3.3-13) but what is available is only <http://www.emdebian.org/grip/pool/main/g/gcc-4.3/libgcc1_4.3.3-8em1_armel.deb>1:4.3.3-8. I have checked for all sid, squeeze and lenny. Where do I find libgcc1 (>=1:4.3.3-13)? Is there something I am not doing right?
I am making my emdebian grip like this: sudo debootstrap --arch armel --foreign lenny /Grip http://www.emdebian.org/grip and then taking it to target and running second stage, making jffs2 filesystem and loading the filesystem on the board. Thanks for helping. Any response will be appreciated. From: Amandeep Bhullar <[email protected]> Date: Fri, Jul 24, 2009 at 1:07 PM Subject: Broken dependencies ?? Please please help. To: Debian Embedded <[email protected]> Hi I have been trying to install gcc on my armel based Emdebian Grip running on Atmel kit. The things have got to very frustrating level. I have tracked the dependency tree trying to install the dependecies individually by downloading, and found that it comes down to libgcc1 (>= 1:4.4.0) which is not available for emdebian grip for armel. I have checked for sid, squeeze and lenny for armel packages on http://www.emdebian.org/grip/search.php Someone please please help !!!!!!! debian:/# apt-get install gcc Reading package lists...
