I will try your suggestion. Could you briefly explain what the implications are of building without DEB_CROSS_NO_BIARCH=yes? Will it just simply build the additional 64 bit libraries and not change any other aspect of the toolchain? I assume those 64 bit libs now build (as you state below, that is what part of the recent work was correcting..).
