Hi, all I started using multistrap for installing Debian armel on QEMU virtual HDDs, and noticed that the set of installed packages differs from the cross-debootstrap case when I just specified http://ftp.jp.debian.org/debian (a Japanese CDN mirror). More specifically, for example, ifupdown were missing in the multistrap case. (Note: I know I can add arbitrary packages and their dependencies using the "packages=" line in the config file. I'm talking about the default configuration.)
It might just be that multistrap and debootstrap are different softwares after all and thus behave differently, but I want to know the specification of these. So I'm asking the developer of multistrap about which packages are choosen to be installed by multistrap, or, from what criterion multistrap chooses the packages to install. I've checked "man multistrap" and http://www.emdebian.org/multistrap/ but couldn't find such information. BTW, currently I'm not going to use something called "Embedian Grip" as it brings another uncertainty to me, but if multistrap is supposed to be used with the "Grip" variant rather than the standard Debian, I will gladly switch to it. But then I have to know the exact set of packages available in the "Grip" variant... $ cat armel.conf [General] noauth=true unpack=true debootstrap=Debian aptsources=Debian arch=armel [Debian] source=http://ftp.jp.debian.org/debian keyring=debian-archive-keyring components=main suite=testing Thanks, Kai -- NODA, Kai <[email protected]> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
