I just have a dumb SpeedStream 5260 which serves as an ethernet bridge modem to my provider then it goes directly into my 100Mhz pentium firewall/router box. This is actually how I've been running for the past 2.5 years now but I am currently working to purchase a Sangoma S518 [1] and remove the SpeedStream completely and have the Linux router do it all for me...
