(BActually I disagree. I find aptitude quite horrible and counter-intuitive.
(B
(BInstead of using this I use apt, dpkg and deborphan:
(B
(Bapt-cache search <stuff> - to search for packages
(Bapt-get install <package> - to install packages
(Bapt-get remove <package> - to remove package and depending packages
(Bapt-get --purge remove <package> - same but purges config files
(Bdpkg --list - list all installed packages on the system (useful with
(Bgrep and less)
(Bdeborphan - find unused libraries
(B
(B>Oh, and I recommend using 'firehol', which is in /testing and /unstable,
(B>and is a wrapper around iptables. It takes a lot of the hard work out
(B>of building a firewall, without stopping you doing anything that
(B>iptables can do.

(BHey, we agree on that one :)
