Mips just needs to have a build done and tested (part of the build is a 'make check' run and it would be useful to have the output of that). Sparc I'm a little confused about, because BenC mentioned something or other about a 64 bit compiler not being ported to gcc-3.2. I haven't been able to tell if that's a showstopper or not, though. I guess basically we just need to give it a try. Checkout the 'glibc-package' module from Debian's CVS. You'll also need to fetch the glibc and linuxthreads tarball from sources.redhat.com in pub/glibc/snapshots and trop them in the toplevel directory. The build will leave log files in the top directory. Grep the 'test' one for 'Error' - And hopefully tell us that there aren't any! =) If there's anything I can help you with on the way, please let me know.
