If you have a moment, perhaps you could resolve a curiosity I have about the symbols bug with glibc on ppc (#155606). This is just for my edification.
I am curious if this bug is ppc specific, and if so why. Does the export symbols process work differently on different platforms, or is ppc using a different baseline version of gcc, or is the library itself different? Or something else?
