Subject: jove 4.16-3 treats "non-breaking space" as unprintable
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
X-Mailer: Mutt 0.91.2
Package: jove
Version: 4.16-3
Environment setting LANG=en_US.ISO_8859-1.
jove treats the ISO Latin 1 non-breaking space character (0xA0, 160) as
an unprintable control character. To reproduce, enter the character with
Alt-1-6-0. Jove displays it as "\240". Instead it should be sent
transparently to the console, which will usually display this character
as a normal space. The Latin 1 characters 0xA1..0xFF are handled
correctly.
This may be a libc/locale problem.
Debian 2.0 (hamm release), upgraded from 1.3.
libc6 2.0.7t-1; locales 2.0.7t-1 is installed.
