Hi,
I am having exactly the same problem on my i386 Debian testing
system at home. Both gcc 2.95 and gcc 3.3 generate the same error unless
I compile with the -static option in which case both work fine. The
problem seems to have appeared unexpectedly after a routine apt-get
upgrade (atleast that is what I think, since when I upgraded from woody
to testing, there was no problem). I am not attaching the error message
since it is the same word for word as reported in the bug report. I am
using glibc 2.3.1-16. The same problem does not appear on my work system
also running Debian testing but on which I haven't run apt-get upgrade
for some time.
Best regards,
Srikant
