Package: libc6
Version: 2.3.2-2
Severity: important

I noticed that the compat part of libc6 (I'm assuming this) doesn't function
properly. When attempting to login to the machine as a user defined only
in NIS I'm unable to login. Apparently, it's not getting the information from
the shadow.byname map.

Running: perl -e 'while ((@x)=getpwent){print "$x[0]:$x[1]\n";}'
with 2.3.2-2 in place, I do not see the crypted passwords of nis users.
with 2.3.1-16, I do.

I noticed other people having problems with commercial packages. Apparently,
It's not limited to commercial packages.

I'm using SID and I did an upgrade of NIS and restarted services as well when
I upgraded to 2.3.2-2. The NIS server is running woody on a dec alpha.
