I assumed it was still in there because it was known to be broken. I haven't looked into it much. It doesn't seem to like some of the patch files in Debian glibc's patch tree. Someone suggested it was the difference between tabs or spaces or something like that in the header. It looks like that bug report has fallen off the end of the list kept by bugs.debian.org. It's easy to reproduce the test, though. Upgrade to the patch in experimental, then apt-get source glibc. Cd into the directory and type `debian/rules setup'. That goes through and attempts to unpack the archive and apply all of the patches. With everything else going on in glibc, I don't have time to dig into it more than that, sorry. Tks, Jeff Bailey
