Package: locales Version: 2.3.1-5 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software
While investigating possible causes for bug#173128 (libgtk1.2), I found out that locales directories are not generated as /usr/lib/locale/<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> in locales 2.3.1. Instead, a huge /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive file whose size is proportional to the number of locales requested in /etc/locales.gen is generated. This breaks _all_ gtk1.2 applications.
