Debian 3.0r1 is debian woody. However glibc 2.3.2.ds1-10 is debian sarge/sid. Chris, does this problem still appear in the latest glibc 2.3.2.ds1-13? I think the newer kernel-image should be used because old version has a vulnerability. Please test the updated kernel image, and please report us.
