Package: coreutils
Version: 5.0.91-2
Severity: normal
After upgrading coreutils I see things like
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/scratch/incoming/MO/jan02$ touch bla
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/scratch/incoming/MO/jan02$ /bin/mv -iv bla ~
,,bla" -> ,,/home/helge/bla"
,,bla" entfernt
Now changing the language to C "curse" this:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/prog/debian/JN/DEBIAN-04$ env LANG=C touch foo
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/prog/debian/JN/DEBIAN-04$ env LANG=C /bin/mv -iv foo ~
`foo' -> `/home/helge/foo'
While preparing this for sending, I now realize what ,, means: The
quote signs! Please use » and « which are standard in german. I always
thought they where mistyped .. (double dots) which are right next to
the , on the keyboard!
Further looking at this, why does the german output state "removed" while the
english one is silent?
