Package: libc6 Version: 2.10.2-6 Severity: normal Starting with 2.10.2-7 the powerpc version depends on debconf instead of Suggests: This is different from at least i386 which still suggests debconf. While this is a minor issue for a powerpc system using it in a cross build chain is a lot more difficult now. Debconf itself has a whole slew of other dependencies that need to be satisfied although this is not needed for cross-compilation. Looking at the control file for -7 I still see debconf under suggests so I wonder why it ends up under Depends: in the final powerpc build.
If there is no special reason can this be reverted to a Suggests:? -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.34-rc5 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libc6 depends on: ii libc-bin 2.10.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Binaries ii libgcc1 1:4.4.4-1 GCC support library Versions of packages libc6 recommends: pn libc6-i686 <none> (no description available) Versions of packages libc6 suggests: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.32 Debian configuration management sy pn glibc-doc <none> (no description available) ii locales 2.10.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: National L -- debconf information: glibc/upgrade: true glibc/disable-screensaver: glibc/restart-failed: * glibc/restart-services: samba rsync openbsd-inetd dovecot exim4 cups cron atd -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
