Hello,
i have the same problem on squeeze/stable - fresh install, samba and nis
combined. Users can write directly to shared group write directory (chmod
2775) but they can't write to the same directory through samba. Workaround:
/etc/nsswitch.conf
group: compat nis
Apparently compat works as files, ignoring +/- in /etc/group
