Package: libc6 Version: 2.13-8 Followup-For: Bug #632252
I have seen this problem with Iceweasel, Firefox Aurora binaries from Mozilla, and about every program that tries to do a reverse DNS query including several P2P servents. This problem, or a very similar one, was already reported and fixed in Arch Linux: <https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/24615>. It is reported in Fedora with apparently no resolution yet <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=__libc_res_nquery>. According to <http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/glibc/repos/core-x86_64/> the relevant patch is either <http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/plain/glibc/repos/core-x86_64/glibc-2.14-fix-resolver-crash-typo.patch> or <http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/plain/glibc/repos/core-x86_64/glibc-2.14-revert-4462fad3.patch>. Maybe both, I can't tell myself. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-rc5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libc6 depends on: ii libc-bin 2.13-8 Embedded GNU C Library: Binaries ii libgcc1 1:4.6.1-1 GCC support library libc6 recommends no packages.
