netgroup caching doesn't exist in any stable Debian releases, and unstable/experimental is tracking upstream, so we'll organically pick this up in time. I didn't see it as a regression, since it's a new feature. Certainly, if this is something more people care deeply about, I'd be happy to review and help forward patches. ...
