The GNU libc has never been designed to work in a multiarch situation, hence this kind of bugs (and I am sure there are been plenty more). We can't therefore consider that kind of bug as important or critical. Debian has decided to go for multiarch, and put most of the burden on the glibc team. We are happy to support multiarch, but we can't make this higher priority than other bugs affecting regular usages of the libc. In short we will work on this bug if we have been able to fix all the other important bugs. That said, if someone interested by multiarch can provide us a patch, we will included happily (of course provided it is not too hackish). > Rather it will be "working rather by chance on a small subset of > possible architecture combinations". It is already the case, as the name of dynamic loader prevents a lot of cases. Multiarch has been mostly designed with amd64/i386/arm in mind. -- Aurelien Jarno GPG: 4096R/1DDD8C9B [email protected] http://www.aurel32.net -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
