It is needed by the SPDX 3 support in github.com/spdx/tools-golang, which syft (ITP https://bugs.debian.org/1124819) and grype (ITP https://bugs.debian.org/1061720) use. Version 0.7.0 is the one tools-golang requires; 0.8.0 adds a dependency on github.com/cayleygraph/quad, which in turn depends on json-gold, and nothing in Debian needs it yet. I intend to maintain this package within the Debian Go Packaging Team.
