This may have been the reason. I just tried again and noticed that this seems to be fixed! I have running the very latest versions here and I see german and english fields mixed. I see also umlaute, for example theme selection - Thema ausw�hlen. So, in the latest packages, this appears to be fixed. If you need version numbers, let me know from which packages.
