There's no need to do this, just don't install desktop.schemas. The /etc/gconf dir already has a versioned subdirectory, so here you're creating nonsense like "/etc/gconf2/2/blah". desktop.schemas will come out of the upstream tarball in the next release if I can manage to remember. Havoc
