Just wanted to provide a quick status update to this list. The latest ORBit2 packages do not build unless ORBit2 is already installed (as documented in bug#122546). This is definitely an upstream problem, and I've reported it, and Michael Meeks has started to look into it. However, neither of us has found a solution yet.
I do have a couple of possible hackish workarounds, but I'd like to fix the real problem, rather than adding ugly hacks, so it may be a few more days.
