I tried to get gnome2 on my desktop last weekends, it is basically a woody box, but some packages (galeon & mozilla) from unstable. So I add deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/ ../project/experimental main to sources.list and do a apt-get -t experimental install gnome-session2 metacity gnome-panel2 gnome-terminal2 gnome-utils It runs quite OK, now I have all the required packages installled. The error code is 21. The panel will now exit.
