gnome-terminal is using 98% of my cpu!

hi,

i'm running a debian unstable box with gnome2. gnome-terminal (version 2.1.1) 
is using 98% of my cpu!
this is incredible and makes my system unbelievably slow..

does anyone have the same problem or know what's happening?
