Not really, it's a frequently faced problem. The answer is a 'staging area' where packages can be built against new libraries and uploaded prior to those libraries hitting unstable. It's good because people who use it know exactly what they're getting in to, and all the packages can be uploaded at the same time. With a little planning, you can get the ftp masters to add the overrides for new packages in advance too. It worked very well indeed for perl 5.8. Regards, Rob
