To be precise: They are all slanted. But anyway this is probably OT here. I'll see if I can find any hints on bugzilla.mozilla.org.
One thing you may want to consider if you are running Gnome 2 is using the experimental GTK2 Mozilla builds, instead of the plain vanilla XFT2 builds. These use XFT2 as well, but it picks up your GTK2 settings, and seems to work well.
I picked up the latest RPMs from <ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/experimental/gtk2/>, ran them through alien and installed the resulting debs. Using the classic theme, I get Moz looking quite like my other GTK2 apps. The menu font is the same as all my other Gnome2 apps, including the menu panel.
The GTK2 port is still a bit buggy, as the tracking bug for it <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92033> indicates, but I've been using it full time all this week and not had many problems with it at all.
I don't know if the GTK2 port looks at .gtkrc at all, I'd assume because it is GTK2 based, it wouldn't. Maybe someone who knows can clue me in here.
HTH, /mike
